Order Processing

We have two product categories:

Once your payment is confirmed you will receive an order confirmation email. Market products are currently sold as pre-orders, so your order first waits for its batch to be completed — see Pre-orders. When items ship you will receive shipping notification with tracking information.

Order status is always available in your profile

Payments

All payments are processed securely through Stripe which is compliant with PCI DSS. We do not collect any payment information directly.

Payment Methods

By default Stripe offers the following payment methods:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Bank transfers and other local payment methods (varies by region)

If your payment is declined, please check with your bank or try a different payment method.

Shipping & Delivery

Shipping is handled by our global fulfillment partner NextSmartShip, who transfers packages from warehouse in China to local courier services worldwide for last-mile delivery.

Delivery usually takes 2-3 weeks from the time of shipment. Please ensure your shipping address is complete and accurate to avoid any delays.

Risk of loss and damage in transit is borne by the shipping provider

Taxes & Duties

VAT is not included in prices. Buyers are responsible for any import taxes, duties or customs fees. If buyers fail to pay any applicable taxes or duties on arrival and the package is left unclaimed, their order cannot be refunded.

Market Products (Batch 3) — Pre-orders

Market products are currently sold as pre-orders for BATCH 3. We collect orders until the batch is complete, then start manufacturing and ship worldwide. The counter on our home page shows how many orders the current batch has collected so far.

Shipping cost is calculated at checkout based on destination and order volume.

You can cancel a BATCH 3 pre-order and get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, or a refund with a 30% fee after that, up until manufacturing starts. Once manufacturing has started, refunds are no longer accepted — see Cancellation & Refund Policies. We notify pre-order customers by email when their batch closes and manufacturing begins.

Market Products (Batch 2)

We have been shipping Batch 2 orders gradually since March 2026.

Keep in mind that some delays may still occur, depending on your destination and current logistics conditions.

Kickstarter Campaign Rewards (Batch 1)

Production is complete and shipping started in December 2025. The vast majority of orders were fully dispatched by February 2026.

For Kickstarter Rewards we use a flat rate of $45 for worldwide shipping.

All additional items you purchase from our market will be shipped together with your Kickstarter reward.

Claiming Your Reward

All backers must claim their reward via our market. If you have an existing Kickstarter order we've already sent account activation email to you (mid 2025), please check your inbox and spam folder.

After account activation you will see your Kickstarter Reward contents as green coupon automatically applied to your cart. Complete the checkout and pay the shipping cost to claim your reward and feel free to add more items to your order - these will be delivered together.

If you lost your activation link or didn't receive the confirmation email for any reason, please contact us at support@microrack.org or post your issue on our forum and we'll do our best to help you to resolve it.

Returns & Refunds

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase, but accidents happen. If you encounter any issues or defects, we have a refund policy in place.

Defective Items

If an item arrives faulty, we will either replace free of charge or issue a refund (without shipping cost).

Cancellation & Refund Policies

Refund policies vary by product type:

  • Kickstarter Rewards: Refund requests submitted after September 2025 can not be processed. Refunds requested before September 2025 are issued with a 50% fee (hardware, accessories and packaging are already manufactured with taxes paid on received income; refunds harm fulfillment for other backers).
  • Market Products (Batch 3 pre-orders): Refunds are accepted only before manufacturing has started. Full refund if requested within 14 days of purchase. After day 14 and until manufacturing starts, refunds are issued with a 30% fee. Once manufacturing has started we cannot process refund requests. If we decide not to proceed with a batch, every order in it is refunded in full.
  • Market Products (Batch 2): Full refund if requested within 14 days of purchase and before manufacturing has started. From day 15 to day 30, or once manufacturing has started, refunds are issued with a 30% fee. We cannot process refund requests made more than 30 days after purchase.

To request a refund, email support@microrack.org. Note that refunds post-processing take additional time per payment method, up to 30 days from the moment of issuing.

Product Warranties

Products are DIY modular synth building kits — therefore are not fully assembled devices. Items are sold "as-is" for educational and hobby use with no warranties.
